Everybody wants to get higher marks in exams, because it determines our future. If we want to be successful in life then it is obvious that grades are important. Better results mean more choices and more opportunities. There are many students who work hard, put their all efforts but unable to get good grades. And they don’t know the reason. There are 7 days in a week and 24 hours in a day. We can’t increase the days and hours but we can utilize them best.

Develop a Study Plan

Planning is the most important aspect of our life. It is way to success. If you want to achieve something then set a goal first and then make a plan to achieve it. Nothing is impossible if you have a solid plan. So, if you want to ensure your success in study then must create a solid study schedule.

Review your whole syllabus and then priorities your subjects. Important subjects which have high marks weightage should be done first. Give them more time. While making schedule you should keep end in mind.  Set your short term and long term goals. Short term goals can be taking good marks in class tests and long term goals can be scoring high marks in midterm or annual exams.

Study Sessions

If you have to study for 4 hours, then there are two ways. Go into your room and continue study for straight 4 hours. Most of the students adopt this method. But recent studies concluded that study breaks are very important. Working too long on tasks can actually decrease your performance. Our brain needs time to retain the information which we study. So best way is, study for one hour and then take a break for 15 to 20 minutes. Get some fresh air, relax your mind and then continue study again. If you take breaks while studying, especially if you are feeling tired or frustrated. It will increase the focus and concentration of your brain. Your ability to memorize things will increase and your productivity will also increase.

If you want to get good marks then you have to believe in yourself, have to believe in your abilities. Remember that believing is the first step to achieving. Believe that you have the ability; you have the talent and passion. So work hard to get your goal. When you think positive, your brain will generate a positive energy inside you. They are always thinking that they wasted enough time and now they have to focus on their studies, have to work hard and have to get good marks. Such students focus more on thinking than on study. Review your lessons periodically

Basically we have two types of memories, short term memory and long term memory. When we learn something, our brain stores that information in our short term memory. But in short term memory information does not remain for long. It will delete after a specific time period. To memorize things for longer period of time, our brain stores that information in Long term memory. To shift information from short term memory to long term, we should review our lessons periodically. When we review a lesson after a specific time period, our brain shift that information to long term memory. In long term memory information is stored for a longer period of time. So to remember our lessons for longer period of time, we should review our lessons periodically.

Solve last five years exam papers

Covering and memorizing the syllabus is important, but attempting the paper is most important step. Covering and memorizing whole syllabus is not enough. If you want to prepare well, want to score good marks, then you must know the pattern of the exam papers well. You must have an idea how the examiner made the paper and how to manage the time while attempting the paper. So you must go through last five years board exam papers.

With collaboration you can share knowledge with each other. May be some concepts are clear to you and some to your partner. Collaboration will help you both to increase your knowledge.
